The Plymouth Concert Band presents Water Music.

Friends of the band:

Please join us on Sunday, February 12th as we celebrate songs for a watery planet. The concert starts at 4:00 pm at the NEW Wayzata High School Auditorium, 4955 Peony Lane, Plymouth, MN 55446.

Come enjoy an afternoon of music inspired by water. We celebrate our oceans and the culture that surrounds them with compositions including Ralph Vaughan William’s Sea Songs, John Phillip Sousa’s Hands Across the Sea andGrant Hull’s arrangement of The Drunken Sailor. We visit Hollywood’s take on the sea with music from The Perfect Storm, Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End and Under the Sea from Disney’s The Little Mermaid. In a Gentle Rain, Loch Lomond, and of course Handel’s Water Music round out the show.

We are also excited to see the return of retired Wayzata High School Band director Chip Williams who will conduct a small ensemble playing Dvorak’s Serenade for Strings. Chip taught at Wayzata for over 30 years and is still busy as a guest conductor throughout Minnesota and Europe.

To top it all off, we are thrilled to have our first performance in the the brand new auditorium. The entrance to the new space is just to the left of the doors to the old auditorium. We’ve had one rehearsal in there and it sounds great!
